RAS AL KHAIMAH TOURISM DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY IS A 'GREAT PLACE TO WORK' FOR THE THIRD STRAIGHT YEAR AND IS IN THE TOP 5 FOR BEST PUBLIC SECTOR WORKPLACES IN GCC

Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, 18 December 2023: Continuing to foster an exceptional workplace environment, Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) has been certified as a Great Place to Work® for the third consecutive year and ranked 4th in Best Workplaces in the Public Sector for the GCC in 2023.

Raki Phillips, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, expressed pride in the recognitions, stating, “Our employees are at the core of what we do, and we are honored to be recognized by Great Place to Work® for the third consecutive year. We are committed to empowering and developing talented professionals that will leave an indelible impact on long-term sustainable growth in Ras Al Khaimah, underscored by innovation, collaboration, and service excellence.”

Great Place to Work® certifications reinforce the Authority’s position as an employer of choice in the region. To attain accreditation, specific criteria must be met, including employee’s contentment in their roles, integrating employees into the decision-making processes to enhance motivation and productivity, ensuring a sense of belonging within the organization, and a genuine appreciation for the broader goals and values of the organization. The certification also reflects RAKTDA’s positive workplace culture and is a testament to its sustained commitment to inclusion, equity, development, recognition and the employee work-life balance.

Both certifications build upon RAKTDA’s previous accolades, with the tourism authority consistently ranked among the top workplaces in the region. Notably, it was recognized as one of the Best Workplaces in the UAE for Small & Medium Organizations in 2022, and as one of the Best Workplaces for Millennials and Best Workplaces in Asia in

2022. RAKTDA was also recognized as one of the Best Workplaces for Women and a Great Place to Work in 2021 and remains today as the first and only organization in Ras Al Khaimah to be ranked amongst the top 5 regional companies in the Middle East.

RAKTDA’s commitment to progressive initiatives and employee well-being goes beyond being an inclusive work environment within the Authority. As part of its Emirate development plan, RAKTDA continues to focus on livability, community engagement and a sustainable environment. RAKTDA’s efforts include supporting tourism establishments and stakeholders to address talent challenges and development in Ras Al Khaimah. To this end, the Authority is actively engaging in HR forums, collaborating with educational institutions, and partnering with community organizations. RAKTDA also initiated an internship program for universities and technical colleges, seamlessly integrating students into the tourism workforce while enhancing their educational experience. Finally, by launching the Emirati Hospitality Program (EHP), RAKTDA’s primary objective is to empower young UAE/RAK Nationals, providing them with the tools and knowledge essential for launching successful careers in the hospitality sector.
